Nice, France

Bonjour! Wow, I feel like so much has happened in such a short time. Well, after relaxing for a day on the beach on Wednesday, we took Marseille by storm Thursday. We saw Chateau d'If (the setting of many Alexander Dumas books- for my family members who don't read he wrote the books that turned into the movies Three Musketeers, Man in the Iron Mask, and The Count of Monté Cristo) and a Palace that has since been turned into a museum. Today was amazing!!! We took a train into Italy this morning and proceeded to have the best Gelatto I've ever tasted in my life! It was like a whole new food! Then we shopped for a short while before taking our Italian chocolates to the rocky beach to relax. On the way back to Nice we stopped in Monaco to see the Palace and explore the town. While at lunch at a restaurant on the sidewalk, we met the funniest little man named Hassan. When he realized we spoke English, he asked if he could join us to chat: He was born in Turkey but is now living in Wisconsin and in between has inhabited areas such as Phoenix, L.A., France, Germany, Florida and Wyoming: His stories about his friend Eddie from Boston (or was it Chicago?) were hilarious- apparently Eddie is a spry 77 year old with four girlfriends, three Turkish, one Spanish- all under 28. He was a pretty funny guy. He offered to buy us all drinks- beer, wine or whatever we wanted, but I think he was a little surprised when diet coke seemed to be the house favorite!
The whole trip has been so fun! We have come across the nicest people, eventhough everyone told us the French were mean (even Tyler!- just kidding). Saddly enough, the Roberts leave us tomorrow as we set out for the West side of Southern France that I like to call "mission country". Tyler and I will have to just continue on our own having a fabulous time and seeing incredible sites! We feel so blessed to be able to go on this trip. It is amazing the ways our Heavenly Father has watched out for us and guided us each step of the way: We are so blessed to have this experience! We love you all and hope everyone is doing well!
