Lately...

Well, we've sold our house (fingers crossed nothing goes wrong from here on out!) and we close early next month!!! Wahoo! In the meantime we are just trying to pack up and get the most out of Houston! We are going to miss our friends so much and hate to leave them, but at the same time we are excited to get a little closer to family and start making new friends all over again! For a look at our friends, visit here, here, here or here- wait, you can't go to their blog- just know that we actually have four friends instead of just three. All right, let's get down to bid-ness.....
This is how we put our baby to bed now, just so there is no unnecessary waking up of the parents. It was hard getting her to go to bed by herself, but now it's totally worth it! It was a bummer, once, though- on the plane this past weekend to Arizona because she wouldn't go to bed while we were holding her. Poor thing, she just wanted to lay down and stretch out.....wait a minute.....step in line sister!!! At least you got to recline! Thank you last-row-of-seats in the plane!
My friend Erika and I are taking a cake decorating class at Michaels. It has been really fun so far. It's mostly, like most beginner classes, stuff I could figure out myself if I just sat down and read the manual. It's nice to dedicate time each week to do it, though, and it gives me some me-time with friends and no baby, which helps me express myself creatively.....with frosting. We often turn to Erika's sister for inspiration/advice from her blog Project Domestication that is so cute. Click on the title for a give-away!
The finished product. I didn't have my base frosting blue because I don't pay attention to directions so my clouds don't show up as well, but you get the idea and Tyler thought it tasted the same!
In other news, this is how I found Adalyn the other day. I think she is trying to symbolically show the confining mess that is laundry. Or maybe it was because she has a mother who let's her play with anything short of a wet hairdryer to keep her occupied. She is such a busy-body! Tyler and I wanted a child with personality, but c'mon! this is a bit ridiculous!!! The girl never sits still!!!

I love the laundry basket pic. Kyler loves to play in ours too- after he has thrown all the clean clothes out one by one:) I am so happy your house sold for you, but of course so sad you are leaving us! I think you will really miss it out here! But great to be by your family! Please tell me how you got Addy sleeping by herself without you having to help her to sleep. I have to rock Kyler to bed every night and nap times and it is driving me crazy! Help!!!
