Tales of the One-Year-Old

We had so much fun on Adalyn's birthday last week. Her actual birthday was on Wednesday so we just went to Sprinkles and then out to dinner at Claim Jumper. Then on Friday we had my sister and her family and my brother and his family over for a BBQ. We swam, let Addy go to town on a cupcake (she did me proud) and began to eat the largest cake in history courtesy of my dad. Here are the latest pictures:

Addy and Mabel (my brother's daughter)
Addy preparing to devour her prey
Addy and her favorite Aunt Ang
Ok, these are the cupcakes I made. I got the idea on Project Domestication to do the watermelon theme and I used this recipe from Magnolia Bakery in New York. It was MOST delicious! I loved them!

Addy got a dress from Haze and Nat (and Mabel and Ethan) but, true to one-year-old-form she enjoyed the wrapping paper more.
Now....on a personal note. Here is the diaper bag I've been slaving over for the past week or two. It is way bigger than I thought it was going to be but I LOVE it. It has enough pockets that I barely even use the middle part. It is fabulous. I'm going to start teaching a class at Bernina Connection and it will be cute things like my bag which is from Amy Butler.

Now that Addy is one here is a summary of her tricks, old and new. She says, "wow," "whoa," "mama," "dada," "bye" and "no" which is more like "na na." She does the motions for the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Popcorn Popping. She blows kisses and gives kisses and hugs. She walks (runs is more like it) all over the place and most importantly, she loves chocolate...just like her mom. I'm so proud.

Very cute pictures! Addy's hair looks way curly.

Nice job on the bag. I think that is the same one I'm going to do someday. All of a sudden everyone is sewing!
