Back Talk

This is the kind of talking back that makes you laugh behind the scenes. One can only hope Addy is just a gifted linguist, but I fear that she has picked up some things and is just reversing roles with us. Yesterday I was reading stories to Addy after work, but was wearing tired of doing it when she had an emotional meltdown.

Addy: Read me a different story please.
Me: I am too tired, I'll read another one in a minute.

Meltdown ensues...

Me: Addy, just listen...
Addy: (cutting me off, sobbing) No, I am busy. I don't want to talk to you right now. (Brief pause, me baffled, she gathering herself) I'll talk to you in a minute.

True to her word she came back a minute later and was able to accept my decision.

That is hilarious. You definitely got one with some presonality! Camilla says things like that to me too, "Just wait a minute, I'm busy. Let me do this."

Too funny! Lexi just turned two...so we'll see if I'll be writing a similar story soon!

That's great she loves her new toddler bed. We're debating on the issure right now, but YOU have given me hope that maybe she'll adjust okay. I'm just worried that she'll always leave it and play with her toys or something so I'm keeping her in the cage as long as I can! She's a doll! Now how about some belly pictures eh? how are you feeling?

P-S Dan is living with us for the month and I'm sure he says hi, but he he's at institute right now, but I'll still say it for him. :) He's doing an internship in Delaware. We've gone down memory lane a couple times with the good ole days at Raintree! :)

Okay, sorry for rambling!

I have had similar conversations with Tanner. Usually at night and when I want to get things done he says,'Mommy just wait a minute" then runs away and sure enough comes back after waiting in the hall for a minute....just to keep me waiting.

Don't you love that they use the exact same 'tone' as you too--so cute, love the sassyness!
