France and Spain

I finally got the pictures onto my computer, but after all the effort it took me- I have no clever words left in my mind. Therefore, I leave you with the pictures and the briefest of explanations for each. Enjoy. This is the group we took in the picture below. Eight students, one godmother, one married-college-student-couple, one friend of mine from work and us. This picture is everyone minus the married couple- the college-student one, not us, and their sister.
We began in Paris where we learned that when you add a wicked wind chill to 50 degree weather, it becomes very, very cold. Tricky Paris. Verrrry tricky. Here we are (above) at the Louvre where Tyler informed me, "We already have this picture." But as I told him, although that may be true-we are wearing very different clothes in this one! Below is Carcassone, one of our favorite places. La Cite, which is the castle we are sitting on, is up on a hill with a beautiful view of Carcassone. Remember that wind chill I was talking about? It was ridiculous up there!
From there we went to Barcelona. It was a really cool town, very relaxed. We went to the beach (and stayed FAR from the water) and walked around the main strip. It was a pretty fun afternoon. In the morning we had gone to a park that was supposed to be a village when it was built. It was made by an idealistic man with a lot of money. It looked like Candyland. It was there that we sat on the longest bench in the world. I know, it felt that amazing, too.
This is in Candyland.
After Barcelona we went to Madrid. We saw a cathedral that has been under construction for around 100 years. It was kind of creepy. Then we went here and it wasn't so creepy anymore.
The Madrid temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In Madrid we saw some flamenco dancers. They asked me for a few tips and so I taught them a little routine I do in the kitchen sometimes. Then, to show their gratitude, they got up and preformed it on stage. The Spanish are such quick learners!

When we got home Adalyn quickly learned how to make the sound that the flamenco dancers make with their shell-things to help us feel more welcomed back.
I'd like to say that she was totally excited to see us and she had been crying the whole time we were gone, but really I'm not sure if she had even realized we had left. She's so fickle, that one.

"Carcassone...glad you're not our home". Tyler, Remember when I wrote that song after staying in Olsen's disgusting apartment when Julie and I got stuck in Carcassone because we thought we had time to go to FNAC before our train came. I still shiver when I think we had to sleep in their beds (they of course were over staying with you).
Looks like you guys had fun. I'm jealous!

You guys look like you had so much fun. I love the contrast between the cathedral and the temple.
